10. Bruna Marquezine

Bruna Marquezine could already have a foot in the DCU door—she was Jenny Kord in Blue Beetle. Though that movie didn’t set the box office ablaze, she was excellent. She also allegedly auditioned for Supergirl in The Flash. Bruna has that screen presence, intensity, and DC links to make her a darkhorse contender for Diana—particularly if DC wants to lean into known quantities going forward.

9. Charlee Fraser

You’ll recognize Charlee Fraser if you’ve watched Furiosa: A Mad Max Saga. With the face of a young Gal Gadot and the raw emotional strength that lingers, Fraser is building some serious steam in the fancasting world. Fresh-faced, yes, but with a depth and strength she could both infuse and help Wonder Woman achieve in a new generation.

8. Grace Caroline Currey

Shazam! fans already know Grace Caroline Currey from her portrayal of Mary Bromfield—better known as one of the Shazam-ily’s toughest members. She’s openly thrilled to remain a part of the DCU, even going so far as to call it “nice” to be fan-cast as Wonder Woman. She’s already demonstrated she can walk the line between vulnerability and strength, and considering DC’s track record with recasting actors in new roles, her switching from Mary Marvel to Diana Prince wouldn’t be all that far-fetched.

7. Eiza González

Eiza González is a popular choice for nearly every superhero role out there these days—and Wonder Woman is no different. She was rumored to be considered for Catwoman in The Batman, and her action skills were in top form in Fountain of Youth. She’s got the face, the attitude, and the charm to play one of the most famous roles in comics.

6. May Calamawy

Marvel enthusiasts will remember May Calamawy from Moon Knight, where she positively rocked as Layla El-Faouly. With no established future in the MCU, DC can (and should) poach her. Calamawy has humor, grit, and a down-to-earth presence that would beautifully be brought to bear on a new Wonder Woman. She could offer something new and completely genuine to the role.

5. Ana de Armas

Ana de Armas is easily the largest star on this list—and she’s shown she’s capable of both action (Ballerina) and emotion (Blonde) in equal proportions. Her casting would be a huge coup for DC, instantaneously enhancing visibility and raising high expectations for the reimagined character. She’s got the talent, the presence, and the intensity to revive Wonder Woman with style and substance.

4. Monica Barbaro

Fresh from an Oscar-nominated turn in A Complete Unknown and a standout supporting role in Top Gun: Maverick, Monica Barbaro is on top of the world. She’s got undeniable star presence, an expanding resume, and the type of subtle power that might reshape Wonder Woman for the next generation. Given the right script and direction, she could command the role.

3. Melissa Barrera

Best known for spearheading the recent Scream resurgence, Melissa Barrera might bring a darker, edgier atmosphere to Wonder Woman—particularly if DC taps the “Absolute Wonder Woman” comics in which Diana grows up in hell. Barrera’s horror background demonstrates that she is not cowed by intensity and has the dramatic chops to infuse the character with something new and bold.

2. Alexandra Daddario

Supporters have been lobbying for Alexandra Daddario as Wonder Woman for years. With her background bringing Lois Lane to life in DC’s animated series and Annabeth Chase in Percy Jackson, she’s no amateur to powerful, mythological characters. Daddario possesses fierce presence and quiet sympathy—two qualities that are necessary to make a lasting Diana Prince.

1. Adria Arjona

Adria Arjona is the name on everyone’s lips these days. From Andor to Morbius to the screamingly underappreciated Hit Man, she’s amassed a resume packed with strength, depth, and warmth. She’s even professed her desire to play Wonder Woman, telling fans to “write about it… help me,” at a recent premiere. Even James Gunn himself weighed in, admitting she’d be perfect for the role. With increasing fan backing and industry buzz, Arjona is becoming increasingly like a leader in the running.

So… Who’s Got What It Takes?

Casting Wonder Woman isn’t only about talent—it’s about being able to take over a room (or battlefield) with presence. Fans have been passionately arguing whether height is important (some want their Diana 5’9″ and taller), but ultimately, it’s about who can play the Amazonian warrior on screen. Charisma, strength, vulnerability—that elusive combination is difficult to find, but each of these actresses brings something special to the table.

James Gunn has confirmed that a new Wonder Woman movie is in the works, with Ana Nogueira to pen the script. There has been no announcement of a director, and Gunn asserts that nothing will get going until the story is set. Gal Gadot is officially off, and though Arjona sits at the heart of online rumors, no casting is confirmed. Until then, the fan wars continue. Each like, comment, and follow adds fuel to the flames. Whether your ideal Diana is an up-and-coming star, a superhero alumna, or an Oscar-nominated powerhouse, one thing is certain: whoever wins the role will enter a legacy—and the whole world will be watching.

4. The Innocent (2021)

Harlan Coben adaptations are almost a Netflix staple, but The Innocent raises the bar. Mario Casas stars as Mateo, a guy whose life is turned upside down by one act of violence—and the secrets that continue to come back to haunt him. It’s twisty, visceral, and richly human in all the right ways.

3. Dark Winds (2022 – Present)

The Dark Winds is set on the expansive and bare 1970s Navajo Nation and tells the story of two police officers solving a double murder case. 2. The Chestnut Man (2021)

Danish noir at its darkest. When police discover a tiny chestnut figurine at the site of a horrific crime, they stumble upon a case that has been buried for decades but won’t remain there. 1. Giri/Haji (2019)

It is a flashy and engaging British-Japanese crime drama that combines the best of both worlds. Detective Kenzo Mori, who goes to London to trace his missing brother, ends up dealing with the yakuza. The show manages to blend the three elements – action, emotion, and moral complexity – as perfectly as few can, largely due to the stellar performances of Takehiro Hira and Kelly Macdonald.

Ten crime dramas. Ten perfection scores. If you’re a fan of dark psychological mysteries, hard-boiled global thrill rides, or detective fiction with an unexpected twist, every one of these choices is a guaranteed safe bet. Binge them together, and you may never go to sleep again.

2. Grey’s Anatomy (Hulu/Netflix)

1. Bluey (Disney+)

The winner of 2025 is none other than Bluey. This Australian kids’ show has been streamed for over 25 billion minutes and is loved by toddlers, parents, and even childless millennials. Nielsen’s charts, with their almost three years of consecutive appearances, have shown that the show has not been going down.

Image Source: Bing Image. License: All Creative Commons

Reality TV is still in a strong position. Love Island USA is smashing all the records, particularly on mobile devices, where almost a third of the viewers watch the show. The kids’ programs are having no problems either, with shows like Bluey and Moana 2 easily dominating the rerun market at home. On the other hand, ad-supported streaming (FAST services like Pluto TV and Tubi) is becoming very popular. These services, with their lighter ad loads and unlimited niche channels, are luring highly price-sensitive viewers who don’t mind watching with ads.

Perhaps the most significant change? Platforms are becoming more intelligent in helping viewers locate exactly what they want. Through curated collections and themed streams, the rate of churn decreases, and viewers stay longer. In 2025, no matter if you are a fan of crime procedurals, animated comedies, or buzzy prestige dramas, there will still be a lot of reasons for you to stay on your couch.

In‍‌‍‍‌‍‌‍‍‌ Hollywood, the only thing that exists are “what ifs”, and among these, no “what if” stirs so much the talk of the fans as the characters that could have had almost a different face. Choosing the cast can be such a moment of musical chairs with high stakes, like the one who is left at the end can make or break the actor’s career. How about exploring the 10 most surprising almost-accidents of the film and TV world and picturing what different realities they might have ‍‌‍‍‌‍‌‍‍‌created?

10. Timothée Chalamet as Spider-Man

Timothée Chalamet was in the mix for Spider-Man: Homecoming before Tom Holland came along and stole the role. Chalamet later revealed that his audition was terrifying, having him “sweating in a total panic” and wondering if he even had what it took. Holland won the part, but Chalamet has found other success elsewhere, headlining hits such as Dune and Wonka. Still, imagine a Spider-Man with those trademark Chalamet cheekbones—it’s an amusing idea.

9. Emily Blunt as Black Widow

Scarlett Johansson is forever tied to Black Widow, but Marvel Studios had first offered the role to Emily Blunt. Scheduling conflicts with Gulliver’s Travels had Blunt dropping out, something she has publicly expressed regret over. Johansson’s legendary performance came later, but it’s interesting to see the Avengers commanded by Blunt’s understated, British charm.

8. Britney Spears as Allie in The Notebook

The swoony romance of Rachel McAdams and Ryan Gosling may have been very different—Britney Spears nearly ended up playing Allie. Due to her Mickey Mouse Club tie with Gosling, Spears reached the final two, but McAdams won out. Let your mind play out what it would have been like if pop royalty had gotten top billing in one of the most iconic tearjerkers of the century.

7. Jack Nicholson as Michael Corleone in The Godfather

Al Pacino’s Michael Corleone is iconic, but Jack Nicholson was first offered the part. He refused, declaring, “Indians play Indians and Italians play Italians.” Pacino’s casting revolutionized everything, but it’s crazy to imagine Nicholson as the ruthless Godfather heir.

6. Will Smith as Neo in The Matrix

Keanu Reeves is forever associated with bullet time, but Will Smith was initially the Wachowskis’ choice to play Neo. Smith turned it down, hesitant to get typecast following Men in Black and Independence Day, later expressing some regret. Reeves’ ascent as Neo became iconic, but a Matrix starring Smith might have been a rather different experience.

5. John Travolta as Forrest Gump

Tom Hanks’ Oscar-winning turn almost didn’t occur—first, John Travolta was offered the part of Forrest Gump. He declined to take Pulp Fiction, a move that would define his career. Hanks filled in and gave one of the movie’s greatest performances, and it’s difficult to picture anyone else delivering that memorable line about a box of chocolates.

4. Gwyneth Paltrow and Claire Danes as Rose in Titanic

Kate Winslet’s Rose became legendary, yet she was not the only contender. Gwyneth Paltrow turned it down to play Great Expectations, and Claire Danes passed because of another great love with Leonardo DiCaprio (Romeo + Juliet). Winslet’s performance captured a generation, yet the “what ifs” are to be savored.

3. Leonardo DiCaprio as Dirk Diggler in Boogie Nights

Leonardo DiCaprio later said that saying no to Boogie Nights was his “biggest regret.” He turned down Dirk Diggler to play in Titanic, which opened the door for Mark Wahlberg. DiCaprio has said he wished he had done both movies, making this one of Hollywood’s most well-known close calls.

2. Henry Cavill as Edward Cullen in Twilight

Before Robert Pattinson’s time as vampire hunk, Stephenie Meyer preferred that Henry Cavill play Edward Cullen. By the time the film was approved, Cavill had grown too big for the part, and Pattinson took his place. Meyer was said to have been shattered, but Cavill ended up in Superman and The Witcher, so the universe equalized just fine.

1. Al Pacino and Burt Reynolds playing Han Solo in Star Wars

Harrison Ford’s Han Solo is now iconic, but the role almost went elsewhere. Burt Reynolds was offered the part but declined, later admitting he regretted it. Al Pacino also passed, claiming he didn’t understand the script. Ford, who was working as a carpenter at the time, became the legendary space smuggler we know today.

Hollywood casting history is rich with intriguing “what ifs,” demonstrating the impact of one decision on careers—and sometimes, the destiny of entire franchises. These close calls remind us that the actors who finally appear on screen are merely part of the equation—there is a whole world of other cinematic universes waiting to be conceived behind them.

10 Wild Stunts Actors Did Without Doubles

0
Image Source: Bing Image. License: All Creative Commons

Let’s‍‌‍‍‌‍‌‍‍‌ be honest, films have a different effect on us when we know that the actor actually did the stunt. There is no fake background; no mystery stunt doubles are getting ready for the next scene while you are watching. Some actors are on the edge of real danger for their art, and they go so far beyond what is required that these moments most often become legendary. So if you’ve ever been curious about which of the actors really went that far, then you are at the right place. Take a ride with us as we bring to a close the actors who did their own crazy stunts in the world of pop culture.

10. Tom Holland Swings Into Superhero Territory

It is not only the role that Tom Holland was playing, which was Spider-Man, but he was also really moving like one. Darren Aronofsky’s background in gymnastics and dance helped Tom to do most of his own parkour-style scenes in the movies Spider-Man: Far From Home and Uncharted. The gymnastic skills of the actor, including the perfect timing on the flips, were the signature of the way the actor portrayed Peter Parker. Surely those acrobatic skills were not only suitable for the camera, but they were also the main reason he got the role initially.

9. Daniel Craig Takes the Hits as James Bond

The Craig Bond period was very different from the previous ones, as it was quite brutal, intense, and one that extracted a lot of physical punishment from the main character; most of it was Craig’s choice. The actor was very proactive in his decision to perform his own fighting stunts, and therefore, he did most of them himself, including those with intense fight scenes, dangerous jumps, and high falls. As a consequence, he incurred numerous injuries, such as broken teeth and a damaged shoulder, to name a few. One of the scenes in Casino Royale that scared him the most was a crane sequence, and not long after, he jumped off a building onto a moving bus in Quantum of Solace. Even though Bond might look like he is having it under control and is cool under pressure, it was definitely not the case with Craig, as he really paid the price.

8. Jason Statham, Built for Action

Before Jason Statham reached the pinnacle of Hollywood, he was already living a somewhat extreme lifestyle as a professional diver. That experience had a great impact, providing him with the necessary skills to portray risky and high-action characters. Jason is very much involved in stunt work across the different Crank, The Expendables, and The Meg, whereby he is seen doing the following: underwater fights, dangerous falls, and high-speed driving, among others. His physical self-assurance and bravery have made him one of the very few stars who require a double to take over their role.

7. Angelina Jolie Goes All In

Angelina Jolie has been showing for a long time now that she is well able to endure and manage an intense type of action. In the production of Salt, for example, she famously did a dangerous stunt with a jump from a bridge onto a moving car. For creating the impression of the character of Lara Croft in the movie Tomb Raider, she went through rigorous training, including military-style preparation. Jolie confesses that she does almost all her stunts, at times even when the professionals are against it. She has never been stopped by injuries or hospital visits; she confronts the danger directly and with courage.

6. Charlize Theron Redefines the Modern Action Star

Not by chance, Charlize Theron’s conversion into an A-list action star came about. Motivated by the hard work of Keanu Reeves, she threw herself wholeheartedly into the stunt work arena in movies like Atomic Blonde and The Old Guard. Her program included training with top-level acrobats and perfecting the complicated fight choreographies. Along her journey, she also suffered grievous injuries; for example, she almost broke her neck during Aeon Flux. Still, Theron keeps on elevating the level of commitment in action movies.

5. Harrison Ford Proves You’re Never Too Old for Adventure

Since Harrison Ford’s very first Indiana Jones film, he has been doing the stunt work himself, and he has impressively maintained this way of doing things for several decades. Even in the recent installments of the series, Ford has been very adamant about doing as much of the action as he can, with very few moments left for professionals. Through many close calls and high-speed chases, Ford’s single-mindedness outlives that of a typical action hero who is automatically grounded because of age.

4. Keanu Reeves and Total Commitment

Keanu Reeves is known for his unrivaled devotion to the task he sets himself. He was said to have done around twenty times the jump off a 46-story building for the filming of The Matrix Resurrections before he got it right. In the John Wick films, he is the one who does almost all the fighting, shooting, and running sequences. Reeves is convinced that authenticity is very important, and thus his philosophy is evident in each punch, fall, and perfectly timed reload.

3. Jackie Chan, the Ultimate Stunt Pioneer

One cannot talk about real and brave stunts without linking them to Jackie Chan. A long time before the CGI safety nets, Chan was already changing the face of the action genre by doing the unbelievable thing, most of the time without any protection. He did sliding down poles rigged with explosives, jumping between buildings, and skating under moving trucks, to name a few of the crazy things he has done. The price was hefty: broken bones, missing teeth, and an abundance of near misses. Nonetheless, Chan’s fearless combination of comedy, kung fu, and danger is still unrivaled.

2. Tom Cruise Lives for the Risk

Tom Cruise is probably the stunt-loving actor that most people know of. He has done it without the help of doubles, anything from clinging to planes, climbing skyscrapers, and racing motorcycles at full speed. Such dedication to realism has brought him a number of injuries, including fractures, but he just keeps elevating the stakes. Cruise is a great example of treating danger as a part of his job, coming from Top Gun to Mission: Impossible.

1. The Reality Behind the Thrills

Even if these moments are exhilarating, stunt work is not without its consequences. According to the National Library of Medicine, most of the time, stunt performers are to blame for head impacts or whiplash during their careers, which is also where the majority of the concussions go unreported. Faulting their duty as professional performers, they push through pain, and thus the injuries that are trapping the performers in the offstage are most likely among them. While the actors are the ones who get the limelight, it is definitely worth acknowledging the stunt coordinators and teams who silently take the risk and make these scenes feasible. The spectacular effect of the cinema does not come for free; it is paid for by those who are ready to put their bodies in harm’s ‍‌‍‍‌‍‌‍‍‌way.

It is a wonderful—and quite often a very confusing—period to be a fan. But the task of distinguishing fine from flawless has fallen upon one person only. Corporate power struggles have never been this captivating. Succession provides a keenly observed examination of family dysfunction, with writing and performances that cringe, laugh, and occasionally yell at you. The Roy family’s dysfunctional empire has become a cultural reference point, with dark humor coupled with Shakespearean-quality drama, and they’ve helped demonstrate that boardroom warfare can be as addictive as dragons or crime families.

7. Breaking Bad

Walter White’s metamorphosis from chemistry teacher at a high school to meth lord is the stuff of legend. Breaking Bad was a slow-burning thriller with careful plotting, deep characters, and moral compromise that raised the standard for serialized drama. Its influence can still be seen today in hundreds of shows and spin-offs detailing the rise and fall of antiheroes.

6. Mad Men

Step into the world of Sterling Cooper, and you’re immersed in a meditation on identity, ambition, and the American dream. Mad Men goes beyond a period piece with its intricate characters, flawless production design, and exploration of existential ennui. Its influence stretches beyond television, inspiring fashion, design, and even a resurgence in cocktail culture.

5. The Office (UK/US)

However you feel about Ricky Gervais’ cringeingly embarrassing David Brent or Steve Carell’s affable Michael Scott, The Office changed workplace comedy forever. The mockumentary style, deadpan delivery, and relatable human flaws make it perpetually quotable and ageless. Its influence is a cultural touchstone for cringeworthy laughter and office surrealism worldwide.

4. BoJack Horseman

10 Infamous Movies Released Before They Were Truly Finished

No pain is greater than the one caused when we watch the movie, which is obviously badly done in the middle. When studios are shortchanging on timelines, directors are abandoning their sets, or special effects are still in the testing phase’s a disaster recipe. And though Hollywood has been doing this for years, the recent move of James Gunn to scrap a DCU project because of issues with the script may indicate that studios are finally coming to the understanding that “good enough” is not really good enough. Meanwhile, let’s take a little break from our own misfortune and attend to the 10 most notorious incomplete films that, to a certain extent, have been able to reach the silver screen.

10. The Mummy Returns (2001)

The Rock’s entrance as the Scorpion King should have been epic. What did they receive instead? The final battle looked like it was from a PS1 game. Brendan Fraser’s charm bailed out the film, but those effects? Unforgivable. Proof that rushing CGI to release a film ahead of a deadline leaves a scar—digital scars.

9. Nailed (2008) / Accidental Love (2015)

David O. Russell walked out halfway through the shoot, leaving behind a pile of half-finished footage. Years later, the scraps and pieces were pieced together and sent out into theaters under a pseudonym. The result was a rom-com with no real ending and a Frankenstein’s monster look. A lesson in why it may not always pay to take a film to its conclusion.

8. The Amazing Adventures of Zhu (2012)

This lost ZhuZhu Pets sequel never got an official American release. Instead, Universal quietly shipped it overseas in what most assume was either a tax evasion or an effort to avoid lawsuits. It’s barely recalled today—save by lost media fans who view it as an unfinished oddity.

7. Mortal Kombat: Annihilation (1997)

Even director Lawrence Kasanoff later admitted the effects weren’t complete. Rushed into theaters anyway, this sequel was so bad it turned into a cult masterpiece “so-bad-it s-goodfavorite. Cheesy martial arts moves and cringe-worthy CGI destroyed it, but at least the fans learned to cherish how bad things could become.

6. Wagons East (1994)

John Candy’s untimely passing took the production by surprise. The studio finished the film using rewrites, body doubles, and reused footage. 5. Grizzly II: Revenge (1983/2020)

Shot in the early 80s, left in the editing room, revived almost 40 years later, Grizzly II is a curiosity rather than a movie. 4. Sphere (1998)

Michael Crichton adaptations usually manage to get it right—but not this one. Reshoots, runaway budgets, and underwater shooting difficulties rendered Sphere incomplete even on a hefty budget. What might have been a smart sci-fi thriller ended up being a lifeless mess.

3. The Devil Inside (2012)

Few finales have gotten under fans’ skin as much. Tense build-up, and the film ends with a car crash… then tells viewers to go to a website for the explanations. Yeah, that was it. The response was so savage that it became legendary, turning the film into one of horror’s greatest cop-outs.

2. A Sound of Thunder (2005)

Ray Bradbury’s classic novel deserved a sleek, considered adaptation. Instead, studio woes had effects resembling incomplete test prints. The time-travel tale implodes under the weight of its own production missteps, and the film bombed badly. A sad loss of a great concept.

1. Cats (2019)

No contest. Cats is the embodiment of “unfinished cinema.” The creepy CGI, the hasty re-release to fix mistakes, and the unadulterated nightmarish quality of human-cat hybrids shambling about on screen… indelible, for all the wrong reasons. The word “disaster” barely begins to describe.

Image Source: Bing Image. License: All Creative Commons

Hurrying a movie never pays off. Whatever it is, from sabotaged special effects to undercooked scripts to production hell, incomplete movies make an impression on viewers—and not the good kind. That’s why James Gunn’s position—kill a bad project before it opens—is a welcome change. Perhaps the age of Franken-films is finally coming to an end.
