New releases, going gems, and some crazy movies that no one’s chat would stop buzzing about (Yeah, demon-fighting idols) were present every week. But what movies were watched the most during last week? 10. Frozen: The Hit Broadway Musical (Disney+)

Well, Elsa and Anna weren’t quite finished charming us. This live stage adaptation of Disney’s Snow Giant took over the stage (and subsequently Disney+) with 159 million minutes streamed. The music, the spectacle, the snowy intrigue–it seems Arendelle is just as magical with live singing and fancier dresses.

9. Straw (Netflix)

Tyler Perry swaps humor for horror in this spine-tingling psychological thriller with Taraji P. Henson. Getting 160 million minutes of viewing, a mother battling against all odds captivated audiences–and perhaps even double-checking front door locks before retirement.

8. Snow White (Disney+)

Rachel Zegler battles Disney royalty in this live-action reimagining, streamed for 161 million minutes. The film is a mix of nostalgia and a dash of modern storytelling, giving fans a vibrant take on one of the longest-running fairy tale films ever.

7. Sonic the Hedgehog 3 (Paramount+)

This movie stars Jennifer Garner in a faith-based, tear-jerking, emotional drama about the miracle cure of a child, garnering 243 million minutes. It’s emotional, tear-jerking, and faith-based enough to make people remember that sometimes miracles do occur.

5. Plane (Netflix)

Gerard Butler is back to action-hero territory, albeit in the guise of crashing a commercial airliner onto a deadly island. With 258 million minutes of suspense, booms, and Butler’s grit, audiences got an old-school edge-of-your-seat experience.

4. The Accountant 2 (Prime Video)

2. A Minecraft Movie (Max)

Gamers are feeling in high spirits. Jason Momoa powers this pixelated madness, which reached 699 million minutes for its duration. Not only gamers but also families in general had a great time watching their favorite blocky world come to life on the big screen.

1. KPop Demon Hunters (Netflix)

The jewel of the crown of the week is full of boasts. This animated action-comedy series, in which the cast consists of a K-pop girl group that turns into demon hunters at midnight, went completely crazy, getting 778 million minutes of attendance. It is not only the most top-rated Netflix original animated series ever, but it is also the largest English-language film on the platform with over 236 million streams. The soundtrack is racing up the charts, the merchandise is rapidly selling, and the special sing-along screenings are taking place in sold-out theaters all over the world. Arden Cho, May Hong, Ji-young Yoo, and Ahn Hyo-seop are redefining what it means to be international pop culture icons.

So what does this slate tell us? That the audiences would like to have everything that CGI-level spectacle, insomnia-inducing suspense, comforting, funny movies, and the wild genre hybrids that don’t blend but actually do. Streaming in 2025 is not stopping; on the contrary, it is getting even stranger, bigger, and a lot more enjoyable.
